LAZER HOT HITS
Trevor Pyle – Chairman of Lazer Hits
For many years Trevor was a corporate affairs writer, working for numerous blue-chip companies. Later, as an independent production company, Trevor co-produced/directed and scripted several documentaries for ITV and Channel 4 on subjects as diverse as women police officers, unlicensed mini-cab drivers, a pantomime, and the fate of banana producers in the Caribbean being put out of business by the World Trade Organisation as well as tragic child HIV victims in Romania.
In more recent times he has worked as a ministerial speechwriter, produced, and co-hosted The Third Eye radio programme with fellow presenter and psychic Susie Quinnell, created and ran a video production capability within a government department before becoming a creative consultant.
Trevor, and Ray Anderson the original owner of Laser Hot Hits) embarked on the creation of the new LAZER HITS due to the lamenting the demise of the original Laser Hot Hits back in the 1980’s. They both deeply regretted the loss of the original over years of the incredible pirate radio station Ray operated as Laser Hot Hits, which broadcast from the North Sea in the 1980s.
Both Trevor and Ray were very disenchanted by the quality of Laser Hot Hits imitators on the internet and their goal was to “resurrect the essence and energetic format of the original to the airwaves” However they both decided to deliver the station in a “contemporary style to distinguish it from the many copies on the internet” with an all American Energetic Sound that is totally inspired by the Laser Hot Hits days on the high seas.
Essentially, both Trevor and Ray wanted to bring back the spirit and sound of the beloved 1980s station, but with a fresh, modern approach that avoids simply rehashing the past and stands out from online versions. A station filled with nostalgia for baby boomers and fresh and exciting for new gen-z listeners rediscovering the wonderful hits of the 60’s 70’s 80’s and 90’s.
Just as Vinyl is making an impact on the new Generation Z and Generation Alpha, that are rediscovering it, the energy and delivery of the golden age of radio will now be there for them to experience for the first time.
